about

Hi, you seem to already know my name, so I’ll skip that.  I’m from Chicago Illinois, I mostly work on independent projects on my computer and in the darkroom.  I love to make beautiful things, and strive to help others do the same.  My arts roots started out at a city program called Gallery 37, which provides apprenticeships in several different arts, each with their own professional artist and intern teaching arts courses.  Coming from such a community-based organization, my goal is to one day open up a artists co-op/gallery one day and  help teach low income minority groups different trades of art, keep them in school, and help them as I have been helped to find… say… “cultural enlightenment (?)”  Oh, right, and my parents were puppeteers and hippie art students…

I’m part of a community of DIY-ers called Instructables, and very much into the idea of self-sustainability and being creative with what materials they’ve got laying around.  So far, my largest project has been a wind turbine built out of a bucket and metal curtain blades.

One of my other biggest hobbies is bicycling.  I love working on my bike at the bicycle co-op out here in Urbana, IL.  Come join the co-op if you’re near!  The masters of the trade (not me) will teach you and help you with anything you want to know about bicycles.  Or, if you don’t have a bike, come and build-a-bike with our tools and bike supplies (which are all half off for members) or buy a bike for around 60 bucks (cheap!).

My study is in the arts (hopefully Industrial Design), and keeping a minor in Urban Planning (which is more about social justice and environmentalism) but my interest jump around everywhere all the time.
